‘It’s a fairly common occurrence that you may go into a supermarket, Asda or Tesco for e
xample, and pick up a bargain on their own brand groceries. However shelves in a tech superstore filled with own brand gadgets and electronics is something you don’t see every day.
The plan is to split the brand into 2 separate ranges. The first being Currys Essentials, which will be sold in Currys, naturally, and the second being PC World Essentials being sold in… you guessed it, PC World.
Currys Essentials aims to provide “straightforward, no-nonsense, functional products at an unbeatable price”, which includes the likes of office kettles and student toasters as well as a whole host of other pretty uninspiring electricals.’
Supposedly PC World’s Essentials will be more primarily focused on PC peripherals and accessories such as USB sticks, keyboards, mice and other consumables such as ink cartridges.
