Microsoft have something to celebrate this week after Stats Counter released information that Microsoft’s Windows 7 currently has a very tidy 25 per cent of the PC market. Windows 7′s famous predecessor, Windows XP has slipped into 50 per cent which is rather remarkable considering two newer operatingwindows-7-on-the-up systems have been released since.

It’s been estimated that Windows 7 will reach 300 million licenses before the end of the year. It was recorded that Microsoft had sold over 240 million licenses back in October.

Sources say that 93 per cent of computers now come pre-installed with Windows 7 – which is a rather large number.
