Most remote companies like Buffer or Dell, have spent hours researching and making sure they equip their employees with the right tools and technologies for better remote working.
They point out communication and productivity as key factors for an efficient team. It’s up to you to hire individuals who are self-motivated and able to work remotely.
However, certain tools help. These are our favorite technologies that either promote or help achieve that:

Zoom for your morning ‘Stand up’ and any meetings you might have. It takes up to 500 participants and up to 10,000 viewers. It can also record meetings for posterity or in case someone missed it!
Prices differ accordingly to the number of participants and meetings duration, but the basic free version can host up to 100 participants.

Slack, this one has groupies here at SpiderGroup. It’s one of the most popular communication tools used by many companies like Airbnb and IBM.
Our Digital team relies on Slack for project management and client conversations, with its easiness to organise conversations by topics and projects – you can choose how you want to use it.
Slack offers a free model with some limitations and two different paid versions.

Trello is great for managing projects as a team. One of its strengths is the visual component, especially when organised into columns like ‘ 1st phase’, ‘Development Stage’ and ‘Finalised’, acting like a pipeline for projects.
You can use it for anything and everything; a client’s project, from brainstorming to the final product stage or to establish the content creation process. Your choice.
Trello has a free version and two paid versions and is available as a desktop app or on web.

Moosti aids productivity by helping you timeboxing each activity you have to do in the day. This way you can make sure you’re spending the right amount of time in each task, and even use it as a way of seeing how much time you’re spending on each client/project.

Office 365 with SharePoint; we’ve talked a lot about this last one here on the blog. Any cloud based service is the most important factor for remote working as it allows everyone in the team to have access to projects in real time. It’s the equivalent of an office space but better, as it facilitates efficient and productive work through a series of tools.

Working remotely has never been easier. To find out more about remote desktop and how it can benefit your business, get in touch with the SpiderGroup team by calling us on 0117 933 0570 or fill in our contact form and we will get back to you.
