Angry Birds took the iOS platform by storm reaching 10-million paid downloads so far, the growth of the game hasn’t finished yet. The game has now been officially-licensed by board game manufacture Mattel.
In the box titled “Angry Birds Knock on Wood”, you get a bunch of lifelike plastic birds and pigs – you get three birds, four pigs, one slingshot launcher, 14 blocks and 56 mission cards.
All of the contents of the two player game allow one player to be the bird and the other to use the 14 blocks to build a ‘stable’ hideout for the pigs. The opponent is then supposed to launch their bird into the pig’s structure.
In the original blog by Electricpig, they said:
Player One pulls a mission card. Player Two then builds the structure shown on the card for Player One to attempt to knock down to score as many points as possible. The first to 1,000 points wins.
You can expect to see this board game arriving in May 2011 priced around $14.99 – expect this to be a high seller.
