Google have teamed up with the Royal Family (or their marketing team, anyway) to offer a new innovative way of getting a glimpse inside Her Majesty’s primary residence.
Google are now offering a “virtual reality experience” in the form of a 360 degree 3D virtual tour of some of the most popular and impressive rooms within the palace, which has served as the monarchy’s official residence since 1837.
The tour has been created by taking a series of super high definition photos in each featured location from every angle and then stitching them together to form a 360 degree panoramic view. The tour can be viewed on YouTube using a smartphone and is designed to work best with a Google Cardboard Viewer.
Get your own virtual tour with Google Street View Trusted
Sadly, unless you have a palace of your own, Google probably aren’t going to come and do a virtual tour of your premises for you. Fortunately, SpiderGroup will! As a Google Trusted Partner we offer businesses, public buildings, schools and more the opportunity to have their own 360 degree virtual tours.
Known as Google Street View Trusted, these virtual tours work much like Google Street View except they bring users right inside your premises, allowing them to take a look around and get a feel for your organisation. A virtual tour can boost your online visibility and increase interest in your brand, leading to more people visiting your website and your premises.
Bring more people through your doors
One of the top things that holds consumers back from going to a new restaurant, hotel, gym or any other new location is fear of the unknown. People are much more likely to visit you if they already have a sense of what to expect and Street View Trusted is a great way to give them that. By letting people know exactly what your space is like, you can make them feel more comfortable about popping in and take the opportunity to show off the atmosphere and services you offer.
How to use Street View Trusted with your business
A virtual tour is just one of the ways you can boost interest and engagement with your brand online and is best used as part of a complete digital marketing strategy. There are a fantastic range of elements you can integrate into your tour, including the ability to make bookings, seamlessly look up additional information, such as menus for restaurants, and add multimedia such as audio and videos to give customers a really engaging and informative insight into your organisation.
SpiderGroup recently created a Street View Trusted tour for the world-renowned Clifton College which really showcases the best aspects of the school and works as a really great example of just how powerful a 360 virtual tour can be.
