Microsoft has announced that starting today, Hotmail users can enable full session HTTPS encryption, to take full advantage of the security measure. You should not confuse over it, as previously SSL in Hotmail was only allowed at the time of sign-in, but now it is available from the start upto the time you log off.

To enable full session HTTPS for Hotmail, you can login via or better you can set it as the default email, calendar and contacts at Hotmail is not the only service from Microsoft to go HTTPS encryted today. From today SkyDrive, Photos, Docs, and Devices pages will all automatically use SSL security.
