HTC To Introduce A Dedicated Facebook Button To Their Smartphones? Do We Really Need This?

It has been rumoured that HTC is expected to introduce a new Android device next week at the Mobile World Congress, and the twist – a Facebook dedicated button.

The rumours came thick and fast about Facebook introducing their own phone, and that came in shape and form of the INQ Cloud Touch but why would HTC want to get involved?

The HTC devices with this ‘dedicated Facebook button’ enable quick access to the front page of the world’s most favourite social network website, and that’s about it.

Engadget reported that if you go on Facebook on your phone 5-times a day on your Android device, you will save 12minutes and 6seconds per year – is it really worth it having this Facebook button?

I like Facebook but prefer to access it via my PC at home rather than on my mobile updating stuff like “I’ve just been out to a birthday party and my dog ate the cake – ROFL”. I prefer my phone to have three dedicated buttons – one for a back function, one for main menu and another for search.

I just hope that Windows Phone 7 doesn’t decide to plummet all of their phones into Facebook. What do you think?
