iOS4.2 for iPad out of BETA, release date soon?

Wondering why there hasn’t been a new beta of iOS 4.2 to take a look at in the past week?

I’ve been keeping my eyes on Xsellize’s website (Apples developer website with a twist) only to find out that iOS 4.2 is now out of Beta as of 1st November.

Are the flaws in iOS 4.2 going to be resolved?

iOS 4.2 hopefully means that Apple seems to have ironed out the vast majority of whatever bugs were in the last build. One big issue which the iOS 4.2 had was lag scrolling between the home screen and spotlight search.

We already know that iOS 4.2 is going to bring the iPad:

  • Addition of multitasking
  • Folders – you can now add up to 20 application icons for more of those heavy users of the iPad
  • An Improvement on the mail setup
  • Multi-tasking
  • Air-Play (allows users to connect their iPad up to AirPort or an Apple TV)
  • Air-Print (printing – over the air)

There are versions now available for the iPad, iPhone 3G, 3GS and 4, as well as the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation iPod Touches.

Hopefully something will be happening soon with the release of this iOS, we’ve already seen the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tablet too earlier this week with quite a heavy price tag. Will sales be affected by this? Is it about time that Apple got 4.2 rolled out to keep their edge on the market?
