Mobile Broadband Users Will Hit 1-Billion In 2011

In 2010, sales of mobile broadband exceeded half a billion worldwide. But according to telecoms provider ‘Ericsson’, there’s a lot more room for growth in the ‘connected era’ – 2011.

Ericsson said that by the end of 2011, subscriptions for mobile broadband will double which is great news for telecoms providers but the will increased the importance of the upcoming 4G/ LTE rollout.

With the introduction of 4G/ LTE, it will enable tablets, smart phones and mobile broadband dongles to get online faster and benefit from a faster data transfer speed.Ericsson predicts that by 2015, 3.8billion people will be hooked up by mobile broadband – 95% of them on HSDPA, CDMA and LTE networks.
