A source from South Korea has confirmed to a local newspaper that Samsung have agreed to significantly increase their production of mobile processor chips in 2011.

The Korea Times, who originally blogged this information says that the semi-conductor Arm of Samsung will deliver 20,000 ‘sheets’ per month in 2011 – which has increased from 5,000 in 2010.

Apple is currently one of Samsung’s largest clients for purchasing RAM, processors, flash memory and LCD screens which are put into all of Apple’s products from iPad’s to iPod Touches.

It has also been rumoured that Samsung are building a new $3.6 billion chip fab in Austin, Texas. If this rumour is true, this could mean that Samsung is likely to be building the next gen A5 chipset.
