With CES less than a week away, a lot of hype has certainly been around tablets. BlackBerry are going to unveil their PlayBook, Palm/HP, Motorola are just a few manufactuers going to be headlining tablets.

News arose earlier this week from Samsung Hub, as reported by TechRadar, that Samsung is set to launch a new 4-inch screen Galaxy Player at the 2011 CES event.

The Samsung Player will have a high resolution 4-inch screen with an 800×400 resolution, Android 2.2 and Samsung’s TouchWiz layer.

With a 1GHz CPU, 3.2mpx camera on the back as well as a front facing one, all of the hardware is powered by a 1200mAh battery.

Samsung are currently set to release a 10-inch version of their Galaxy Tablet with Windows 7 at CES but will the little 4-inch player manage to hold up the expectations Samsung will have of it? The Galaxy Tablet Android has already been released and been a great success for Samsung so this one will have a lot to live up to.
