Well it hasn’t been long since Microsoft released their new smart phone operating system – windows phone 7.

It seems as if twitter has been leaking a little bit of information about Microsoft planning their first update to Windows Phone 7 and sources say, its set to be a big one.

According to Microsoft’s Chris Walsh – “I’m hearing the first #wp7 update is goi""ng to be MASSIVE!”

Chris followed his tweet by joking – “let’s just say, they could have called it Windows Phone 8 :P”

Obviously this confirms that Microsoft possibly has something in the pipe-line for an update on Windows Phone 7 but no dates have been confirmed yet. It is however rumoured to be expected early next year and Windows Phone Central indicates a January release.

In terms of what we could expect – possibility of a copy and post function would be one major update for the operating system, multi-tasking, killing background applications and a Microsoft’s take on Google Navigation using Bing?
