DHS are a heating and plumbing company, based in Bristol, with a good reputation and a small team of professional heating engineers and plumbers. They now have over 40 years of experience, and are established as one of the largest central heating installation businesses operating in the South West.  

The Problem

DHS wanted to grow their online exposure, using marketing tactics they could accurately track the success of. Having trialled PPC themselves, without the volume of leads they’d hoped for, they needed an effective, well-managed campaign they could rely on to generate leads. As their website was outdated, it no longer reflected their growing business and the range of services they offered. Updating the site was also a key priority to increase the likelihood that traffic from search would convert.

The Solution

SpiderGroup developed a content strategy that would help improve the search engine rankings of the DHS website, and increase their online exposure, while serving customers better by effectively acting as a hub of boiler and heating knowledge. The focus was primarily around content strategy – generating high-value, insightful content that would engage visitors and increase the SEO value of the site.

We redesigned the website to modernise the look and feel, and improved user experience by updating the navigation to make it easy for users to move through the website, find the information they needed, and convert into customers.  

The Outcome

In the first 18 months of SEO activity, we increased traffic by 724%. Organic traffic since then is continuing to grow at a sustainable rate, taking into account the significant seasonality of the industry.  

But it’s not just organic traffic that improved – leads increased by over 550% compared to before the start of the SEO project.  

Due to the success of the digital marketing work, and the huge growth in leads and traffic, DHS decided to engage with us for their IT services, too. We now manage their computer network and servers, and provide IT support to the office.
